More Than Music

While this blog will be used mostly to comment on my musical journey there will be times when I put that aside for a post or two. This is one of those times.
My brother-in-law Fred passed away four months ago and is survived by my sister and her three children.  Fred was an amazing partner, father and also a very active citizen in the community of Oshawa. This was evident at his funeral when people had to wait outside the funeral home because it was filled to capacity. For me it became even more evident on Sunday night when the Oshawa Generals hockey team played a game in his honour and invited my sister and her children to do an honourary face off. After that they had a moment of silence and you could hear a pin drop in the arena. To a great family man and all around great person, rest in peace Fred.

So sorry to hear about your family's loss, Jeff. Am sure your sister and her children will be counting on you, Alison, and the rest of your family for emotional support in the months ahead. May you all find ways to make this Christmas a happy one as you remember and celebrate Fred's life.

Jeff, I know this Christmas is going to be difficult without Fred. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. It's hard to believe sometimes that one of my Cousins is widowed already. It is good that Lynne and the children have such a close family to turn to. Hope to see you all sometime this year. Patti
